This morning we presented the BIHAR project at the Euskararen Etxea in Bilbao; an initiative that places at the center narratives and discourses for language revitalization. The project will be developed and showcased through an International Congress to be held from September 23 to 26 in Bilbao, Irun, and Hendaia.
Several organizations have taken part in this project: Soziolinguistika Klusterra, Taupa Euskaltzaleen Mugimendua, the collective Plazara and the Garabide association. The following representatives attended today’s presentation:

The BIHAR initiative brings to the forefront minority language communities undergoing revitalization, focusing on the narratives and discourses that support language revitalization. After two years of preparatory work, the project has been structured in three phases: an international-level diagnosis, a socialization process at the level of the Basque Country, and the International Congress to be held in September.
