She is a member of the grassroots Maya organization U Yich Lu’um (Fruit of the Earth) and of Yúnyum, an organization dedicated to language revitalization. She is also an anthropologist, facilitator of educational processes, and an activist for women’s rights in Yucatán, Mexico, where femicides and anti-Indigenous policies are an everyday reality.
