Several organizations working on the normalization of euskarahave recently presented the BIHAR initiative. Its aim is to place minority language communities from around the world at the center and focus on renewing the narratives surrounding language revitalization. A four-day International Congress will take place from September 23 to 26, 2026, across Bilbao, Irun and Hendaia. According to the organizers, “it will be both an opportunity to look at the world and to position ourselves globally”.
